This is it, our first look at Hourglass Lake! Located somewhere in East Kootenay, British Columbia. Elevation gain is 339 metres or about 1,100 feet. Roundrip is 6 kilometres or 3.6 miles. Look, snow! Honestly I wasn’t expecting to see snow, but there it is. The lake itself narrows substantially in the middle, making the lake look somewhat like an hourglass. Cool eh. It took us about 90 minutes or so to reach the lake. This hike is rated to be “moderate”. Perfect for someone like me. I like them in the easy to moderate range. Hard, no thanks. As usual I used my trekking poles, which I have come to love! I will never go hiking again without them. My knees like them very much, and are thankful I bought them lol. Any good hiking plans in the works this summer?
