Continuing with yesterday’s theme, getting a little closer to these somewhat snow covered mountains. The hike we were on was actually the trail to Mount Assiniboine (which is like a full day hike), as the trail to Grizzly and Larynx lake were closed due to muddy trails. This was the default open trail. So basically the idea/plan was to just continue along the trail for about an hour or so, then just turn around and come back, or at least something like that. It did turn out to be a fun little unexpected journey.
