This is Sulphur mountain. As seen from the Vermillion lakes lookout point, located along the trans Canada highway #1 (and just a stone’s throw away from the town of Banff). Not the tallest or most magnificent mountain around, but it does get it’s name from the Sulphur springs discovered sometime in the 1800’s. Just out of view and on the other side, you will discover the amazing Sulphur Mountain gondola. A must do activity, at least once in a lifetime. The best way, but not the fastest, is to do the hiking trail. Takes about 2 hours and a bit one way. Definitely at least a moderate hike. In the past you could climb up and then take the gondola down for free, but that is now a banned freebie. Thanks for stopping by!
