Just a few days ago I woke up to find we had some freezing rain or sleet come down outside which made for an icy morning!
When I went outside it was a little strange seeing all of the ice because it seemed as though all of the plants had ice on them but the sidewalks, driveways and streets all seemed to be ice free. I'm not complaining though since it worked out well for anyone having to drive into work.
These Evergreens in the front of the yard had pretty layers of ice on the outer branches.
I was taking a photo of some ice encased vines up in a tree when I spotted this bird. It may be a young House Sparrow as there are at least two nests up in the tangled web of vines in those trees.
It was all very pretty to see the ice but it was melting fairly quickly by the time I decided to check out the back yard.
That back yard is where I also took the first photo in my post of an ice-capped Maple tree bud. There is a large Maple tree in the back yard that has budded out. Every year around this time it seems like it is budding out too soon but I made a mental note that it buds out this early every year and it is indeed not too early.
These are my last two photos for this post and in the first photo below you can see some Evergreens in the background. Those Evergreens reside in my neighbors back yard. They were as pretty as the ones in the front yard with their outside branches lightly layered in ice so, naturally, I had to get a few photos to show them off as well. 💖
