As I was getting ready to make breakfast this morning, my wife said that there was a hawk in the neighbor's tree. So I went and grabbed my camera and my zoom lens so that I can get some shots of it.
Bird photography is one of my favorite genres of photography to explore. I love capturing pictures of these animals out in the wild. It is fun to try and sneak up on them and get pictures before they fly away.
I was able to get pretty close to it as I was taking the pictures. I wasn't as concerned about scaring the hawk off as I was about just wandering into my neighbor's yard so early on a Saturday morning.
I was hoping to get some shots of the bird taking off and flying, but I had my focus set for a specific point, so when it took off, I missed the shot. Fall is approaching and our hummingbirds will be migrating south, so it will be cool to have a new set of birds to take pictures of.
This weekend, we have a pretty high chance of getting snow in our mountains, which means that this winter should be pretty bad compared to our recent ones. Hopefully the weather doesn't keep me inside the entire time because I would love to venture out and get some cool shots of wild animals in the snow.
