I may have some pretty exciting opportunities coming up in the near future, so I have been trying to get out and practice shooting more architectural stuff.
Architectural photography is something that I have never really been good at, but when I went down south a few weeks ago and took some photos of the resort that was being built, I found out that I really liked it. One of the main reasons I like it so much is that I don't have to deal with people and pose anyone. I just need to walk around buildings and find ways to make them look cool.
I only spent about 30 minutes walking around a couple blocks in Salt Lake City to get these shots. I am going to have to find out where the cool buildings are and spend some time going around in that area. Another thing that is cool about this type of photography is the look of the location can change so much throughout the day because of the sun and how it makes shadows.
I still have a lot more to learn before I feel comfortable to go out and do these types of shoots for clients, but I already have some people asking me to go take pictures of their buildings, so I am going to have to hurry and get as much practice as I can with it so I can start. Its going to be an interesting next few weeks. It is always fun learning new techniques to improve my skills.
