It is cool to see so many different country's flags and their firefighters represented at the event.
This dude was massive. He was like 6 foot 6 and probably weighed close to 300 pounds, but he could move and got a great time.
This firefighter from Germany was going for a personal record but fell within a few feet of the finish line.
The Polish firefighters are in amazing shape and have been getting awards each day.
Yesterday was pretty cool at the firefighter event. I brought my daughter along with me and was giving her some pointers on shooting an event like this. She is still pretty new to photography and how the cameras work in manual mode, but she has an amazing eye for catching great photos.
On the way to the event, I tried to explain how manual mode works and how the aperture, ISO and shutterspeed all work together to get good photos. I explained how to read a light meter and when we got there, she went off and took some really great photos. Hopefully I can talk her into sharing them here on Hive because they are so good. It was cool to see how some of our shots are very similar, just from slightly different angles and compositions.
There were so many new faces there yesterday and I think that as the week progresses, more and more people will be there to compete. Friday and Saturday are going to be the main days and I am expecting a lot of people there.
I decided to sell off some crypto and buy some new gear. I've got a new Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 lens coming in the mail today, so hopefully it doesn't take all day to get here because I need to be back at the event later this afternoon. So I am hoping that the lens shows up so I can use it. It will give me double the reach of the lens that I have been using, and the wider aperture will make some really great photos. I have been on the fence with purchasing this lens for a long time, but there have been many situations where this lens would have been so much better for me than the one I was using.
Well, I need to finish eating my smoothie bowl and check on all my gear before I head back out for the day. Thanks for stopping by and checking out my photos. I am having an awesome time capturing them each day. It is really cool to be a part of a worldwide event.
