The Whitney Plantation was our first stop once we landed in the New Orleans area. It is an old plantation just outside of the city and nestled along the Mississippi River.
The grounds were immaculate and had some of the coolest trees. The Southern Live Oak trees are so cool to see in person. They really give off an eerie feeling with the Spanish Moss that hangs down from the limbs.
The statues on the plantation's grounds were covered in green moss as well, and it really helped to give you a sense of just how old this area is. Hopefully one day my wife and I will be able to visit this area and she will be able to see how cool it was. Too bad it is so hot and humid there in the summer.
