This was one of the coolest and heartbreaking memorials that I have ever been to. The National Memorial for Peace and Justice is a memorial dedicated to those that were victims of lynching in the US.
The memorial covers six acres and has over 800 hanging monuments that represent a county in the United States where a person was lynched. The monuments also include the names of the victims as well and the date that they were killed.
It was pretty heartbreaking to see people walking the grounds looking for names. I could only assume that they are looking for relatives that were victims of this hatred.
This memorial was one of the most memorable parts of my trip. I am glad that I was able to see this place and I hope that you enjoy the images I have shared.
