Such a cool place
Earlier today, I went up Little Cottonwood Canyon to get some drone shots. On the way up there, I used my GoPro and created a timelapse video of the drive and it turned out pretty cool. I am going to be editing the timelapse video and some of the video I got while flying the drone and I will be posting it to threespeak probably tomorrow if I am able to finish it.
I parked at the same place I went hiking during the summer, and I didn't realize that there was a ski resort like a quarter mile up the road. I was going to grab some lunch at the resort, but it was almost $20 for a burger, so I decided to skip it and just head back down the road a bit to fly my drone.
We haven't had a good snowfall yet, but we should get some good snow on Thursday. This whole area up in the canyon will be covered in fresh snow and it is going to look so cool.
I think I am going to create videos of my canyon drives because they really are beautiful places and once the snow hits, they will look even more magical.
This area was hit by an avalanche a few years ago and knocked all these trees down. It is pretty crazy how much force an avalanche can create.
One really cool thing about flying a drone over an area is seeing all of the different things on the ground, like the creeks and hiking trails that are in this area.
This is the beginning of the hiking trail. That hike would be way too cold right now. It was near freezing when I was up there flying and the sun usually sets pretty early in the canyon and the cold comes in fast.
I really like the top down shots of trees. I am hoping to be able to get some of these types of shots when the trees are covered in snow.
I am glad I was able to get out and fly my drone today. I just have the first DJI Mavic Pro and would like to be able to upgrade to the new Mavic 3 at some point. There have been so many upgrades to the camera with that one and it would make some incredible pictures.
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my photos. I hope that you liked them. I want to continue learning how to take better drone shots and landscapes.
