HOW IT ALL STARTED MANY YEARS AGO

Hello and happy new year to all my followers and new hive people seeing my content for the first time hope you all had a great christmas and a happy new year.
This is a start of a new year and I don't believe I have explained how I got in to photography all them years ago and feel like its time to explain my journey in to photography.
Many years ago I worked in a garage in Epping London working on expensive cars such as Ferrari Bmw Rolls Royce Aston Martin and many more. As a child I always loved Ferrari and Lamborghini and always had posters of them on my walls and always wanted to work with cars but this changed when I got to work with cars. Working with the cars was not what I enjoyed in the end I just loved cars not working on them so I left the job in search for a new job I started to work in the building industry to get the money in and worked my way up for a big building company in the UK up until 2008 when we had a collapse and I was made redundant . I got a payout and took time out to work out what I was going to do as at the time I had a mortgage and car payments to make why I was not working.
I had always messed around with photoshop as when I first left school I went to art collage and also believed I would do something in art in the start but yet again from my passion of art I lost interest in doing this every day and felt from it being a interest then turned in to a chore every day and lost the interest totally .
I had self taught my self in photoshop and light room over a few years and used yo do a lot of photo manipulation images starting of with basic things like colouring hair and clothes and retouching moving on to new backgrounds and progressing in to harder and more complex design peaces I decided I would call myself a name and start posting my images or edits online not knowing really what would come from it.
So I set up a few platforms at the time it was facebook and deviant art that's the only places in the start but then when instagram and twitter etc came along I posted to them but in the start it was mainly facebook. I contacted a few photographers and asked them if they would let me use there images so I could do some photo manipulation designs with there images and would mention them as the photographer and tag them etc in return to use the images and some was happy for me to do so.
I set to work to do some manipulation images with the images a photographer sent me over I remember one was a girl standing against white background wearing leather and I turned this image in to a night shot on a runway with a plane in the background one of the other ones I was sent was a model laying topless on a leather sofa with a old fashioned phone on this image I made the sofa pink her hair pink and the phone pink so it all come together as one pink style image and the lighting looked realistic and was really happy with this image. I also remember the same model I was sent over was a topless shot posting standing up and this image I turned in to a robot style so the top half was topless and cut her legs of and added robot ribs and inside with it all hanging out and added a sky background so she was floating in the air this also I was very happy with at the time . after posting the images online to facebook and a few other sites and tagging in the photographer he contacted me and said I need to speak to you can I phone you please I said yea no problem I thought oh what have I done that might be wrong . I gave him my number and he phoned me he said to me his facebook was blowing up and his msg box is going crazy asking him were are all the images coming from asking if he can do more he said to me he didn't know what to do about it so I said to him send them all to me and I will deal with it . I don't think he liked that the images was getting more attention than his other images and felt that this was a problem and I understand that as it was his work to start with and then in my opinion and a lot of others I made it better that's only my opinion but after this I started to get models from facebook and other people asking me to do photoshoots and do images like I had done and a lot of the models that I had done the images for the photographer was coming to me to work with me but I had to keep explain to them I am not a photographer I am only a retoucher and digital artist I don't have the equipment or experience to do photography the only way I could do images for them was to get a image of a photographer to be edited. This would prove hard as a lot of models was doing TF shoots and did not own the images and because of copyright on the images I could not edit them as I had to explain to the models every time so they was going back to the photographers and asking them to use the images some would let them some would not .
So this went on for a period of time and then I still kept on getting asked to take the photos and I thought about it one day and thought should I teach myself photography and actually go out and get some equipment and try to see if I can actually make something from all this . I find it easy to learn something if I am shown how to do it and then I find my own way of doing it after when I was at school I was diagnosed with dyslexia so reading and writing is not easy for me but practical things I find are easy get around.
I was in contact with a photographer that had some good contacts and used to shoot for page3 and used to help him retouch his images for him and he gave me advice on bits I needed after watching youtube videos and reading bits I decided I knew enough to actually give it a go and start to take and edit my own images.
I went out to Germany on a brake with my now Ex partner and when there picked up 2 cameras 3 lenses 2 flash guns a tripod a case and so much more around £20000 worth of stuff that I brought back to the uk to start of this journey of unknown but ready for the start of what was to come.

This is a small jpeg I found of a model I added tattooed to and a design I done for a model with the text all are very small low res images sorry but all I still have as explained in previous posts I lost all my work from years gone by on a HDD .
This is a Ferrari 458 with the BORN number plate I used as promo taken in London knightsbridge.
At this time now I was getting bookings after advertising and contacting people back that asked about working with me I was also shooting in London at this time the supercars around the knightsbridge area and putting the images on a instagram page and youtube videos as this was just something I enjoyed to do .
This is a few of the images shot in London of the supercars I was doing at the time.
After getting the first few bookings from the model work it started to snow ball everyday I was getting more models contacting me for photoshoots and the social media was helping me to advertise this on the instagram and facebook and twitter was free promotion for me to advertise the content I was producing. I was also getting company's and model agency contact me for me to shoot there portfolios. I was shooting a lot of glamour and fashion images and when looking back now at all the old images I used to produce to what i produce now is totally different style as its progressed over the years .

I am still shooting glamour work but not as much as I used to now I do a lot of images for my partner for her social media and platforms but I also do other work now and there is not so much work in the glamour side of the industry anymore as there used to be. I also started DDSL PHOTOGRAPHY This is my commercial and events photography for companys such as universal studios , UBS bank , portico and PWC are just some I worked for this is a few images from my DDSL PHOTOGRAPHY.
When COVID-19 Hit us this killed of the photography side of things as this was not possible and it was hard to recover back after not being out shooting content and getting new clients in over the years to come I sort of left the photography behind in this time and didn't shoot at all part from images for my partner and her platforms. This was hard times to recover from I have set up a new business now and I am working on this but I am still going to produce images as and when needed or Logo designs etc I also do design work and logo designs for people and company's I do all my own logos and designs for all my projects .
I have started with all the new designs for the business and logo design doing all the flyers and price lists , invoices all the branding is done now its just getting the business in now for us to get it started so looking forward to it and the photography isn't gone as it will always come in handy with any project I do and I will always love photography and posting pictures for years to come.
I hope you found this a interesting read its only a short trip in to how it started to were I am now and there is a lot more but this short explanation will give you some idea how I got to be a photographer.
