WALK AROUND SHREWSBURY ON A WET DAY

Hello and welcome to you if you are new to posts this post is a set of images taken in Shrewsbury on a wet weekend I hope you enjoy. If you are a returning follower to my posts welcome back and I also hope you enjoy this latest post.

This weekend we went to visit Shrewsbury again to look at a property there and after we had visited the property to view we went for a walk around the town and I took few snaps . We also went for a bite to eat in one of the restrants in the town called the peach tree.

Some of the images are edited in black and white as well as some colour images .

This shot is of the old Shrewsbury prison that is no longer used but you can visit the prison to look around when we got there the prison was shut so we couldn't visit it on this day.

On the 9 Feb 1961 a man George Riely was executed by hanging for the murder of a 62 year old woman and this was to be the last execution to take place at Shrewsbury prison before this capital punishment was abolished in 1969 in the uk.

Also Shrewsbury prison held one of the famous great train robbers Robert Welch .
