Just got in from work but it’s a must I try to to create some content. These days temples and shrines are pretty much the same to me, but what grabs my attention is the carvings on them. On this particular shrine, there were two dragons but this one on the right looked more refined. Here are the two dragons side by side.
As you can see, the one on the right seems more perfected or maybe it is just the angle I snapped it at. The dragon 🐉 on the right also has a ball in its hand ( yeah I hear you Dragon ball fans). The Dragon balls/ pearls / wish-fulfilling orb in Buddhist iconography signifies the sun’s radiance bringing light to darkness and the bringer of joy.
Sounds odd seeing that it is being held by such an aggressive looking creature. But when you think about it, dragons are like lions, respected, feared and dominant. I have a strange theory that the spirit orbs that have been seen by many ( including myself) have something to do with he orb in the hands on dragons.
