Vietnam Railway was born in 1881. Before 1945, the railway was built by the French colonialists in Vietnam to serve the colonial rule and exploitation. From 1945-1954, the railway was used for national reconstruction and economic development. In the period 1854-1975, Vietnam railway performed two tasks at the same time, serving economic development and the war against American imperialist. Although it was violently bombed by the American imperialists during the war to separate the supplies of food and weapons from the North to the South, the Vietnamese army and people fought and worked selflessly to ensure the smooth operation of the trains. From 1975 to now, Vietnam Railway has played an important role in the development of the country by transporting people and goods throughout Vietnam.
