I had seen pictures of antelope canyon but I didn't really know what to expect. I certainly didn't expect a tiny crack in the ground that you could easily hop over. But that is what we found. However, when we descended into the slot canyon, forty feet down, I was transported to an entirely different world.
Flash floods have cut through the soft Navajo sand, creating these slot canyons and wonderful formations. Over time the erosion has smoothed the walls creating very unique wave formations.
It is truly a mecca for a photographer. After seeing these you might want to go for a visit as well.
This is the view from on top. You can literally jump across..not knowing just how deep and wide these cracks get.
Now compare that with the view from below. Each turn you take down in the canyon brings another wild and amazing scene.

The biggest worry I had while exploring the canyon was of flash floods. The same floods that have created these amazing formations have also washed away tourist. So check the weather forecast and go have an amazing time!
