I think the start of the rainy season has also brought some breeze for all the insect and small animal to start reproducing, since there might be abundant food will arrive alongside the fall of the rain from the sky. Because just when there were black clouds in the sky, cool winds, and small showers at night, I found this little praying mantis scattered around in the garden area in the villa.
Judging from the shape of the head and the body, I think it might come from different species but from the same family, or at least from the same genus. I might be a little bit lucky to find them at different stages of their life, even though they are from different species.
The first one is when it was still tiny, with only black color all over its body. The wings had not developed yet, but it moved very fast. I think I took the photos of this guy on a different day.
Then I have the next stage of its life, it has a green color with some shade of brown also appearing on its body. The shape of its body is different, and the shape of its eyes is different. That is why I think this juvenile mantis is from a different species. The wings were still not visible on its back, maybe it had not developed yet.
And then the last stage that I managed to capture is this one. I think it is still a young adult since it still has not developed its wings. The pattern on its body has become apparent, the size of its body is also already quite big compared to the one above in the middle stage.
Now you can see this one has rounder eyes, compared to the one above in which the eyes are a little bit pointy to the top. Also the body on this one only curve a little bit, while the one above curve quite a lot. still, as I mentioned earlier it might be because they are at different stages of its life, or they might be a completely different species. It is so nice to capture them all in different stage and put it into one post.
