There had been a covering of snow overnight. Sadly, it was mostly gone in the morning. The ground was far too wet after the rain for it to really settle and stick around. I decided to go for a walk over the fields as there was still a lot of mist about. A lot more snowdrops had appeared.
Surprisingly, there were quite a few people out walking. I thought the weather would put them off, but I suppose their dogs won't walk themselves.
I've always liked these random wooden posts in the middle of the field. I've never known them to be previously attached to a fence or anything else.
To the left is Salem Church. I've never been inside. It always seems to be locked unless there's a service or an event on.
It was quite bitter while I was out walking. I had to keep moving just to stay warm. Even when I had several layers on, the cold air still managed to get through. I have to take several tissues with me. My nose constantly runs in the cold air. It certainly clears your sinuses out.
I could only just see the old boathouse on the lake until I got closer to it. This is quite a good accidently meeting place. I always get chatting to fellow walkers, bird watchers etc here.
There were a few cormorants and goosanders on the lake. Unfortunately, I only had my short lens with me. I will have to return with my long lens. That's the problem when you enjoy both walking and taking photos. I hate having to carry heavy gear around with me, but I can guarantee I see more in the distance if I don't take the long lens camera with me.
There was only a small amount of snow left from overnight.
On the way back, I bumped into someone who was moving slower than me!
