Linacre Reservoir is a lovely walk as the leaves have now turned a beautiful array of reds, oranges, and golds. It's a place to grab your camera and hiking boots and go for a picturesque walk around the ponds and through the woods.
We had no problems parking at all. We started the walk from the car park and made our way down the steps and into the wood to the Lower Reservoir. The misty waters of the reservoirs added an eerie feeling to the place. Weather is very up and down at the moment.
The woods are always well maintained. We saw a few people with child buggies, so it was quite firm underfoot.
There's lots of squirrels and birds to see. There's a few bird feeding stations and plenty of places to stop and sit for 10 minutes to watch the birds.
We spotted a lovely robin and moorhen and some mandarin ducks and tufted ducks on the water.
It doesn't take too long to walk around the whole of the three reservoirs, but you can always take shorter walks. There are also fields around the reservoirs with lots of other trails to explore. It's probably best to visit in different seasons as they can look so different, and you can appreciate the bluebells in the spring.
