We decided to have a walk into the Peak District in Derbyshire for a walk along the Monsal Trail, starting under the bridge at Hassop Station.
There's been a bit of snow mixed with frost in the area, which was a nice surprise.
We think this is an old wren's nest. Wrens sometimes return to the same area during the breeding season, and can even use the same nest if it was successful last time.
It was still cold but the sun was out and we had a lovely blue sky. You soon get warmed up when you start walking, but the air was quite sharp.
It really was like a picture perfect winter scene with the wooden gate in the snow.
It looked as though they were doing a bit of tree maintenance along the trail.
The sun went down creating a blue hour feeling. Time to go home!
