I had a rough morning, which put me to the test, but I can at least say I'm not a snowflake and this word has a deep meaning today. I woke up all in pain and was planning to take a day off, which, translated into my own terms means work as usual, just maybe not at full speed. Then I went to the window and saw everything was white. This can only meant one thing, that I am going out for a photo shoot! No matter how unwell I was feeling, I knew this was an occasion I couldn't miss as snow is becoming a scarce joy with every year goes by.
So I got myself together and dragged myself out of the door, to try my hand at shooting snowy photos. The truth is, I did not pay attention to the outside temperature, so I took my usual coat, which has become a bit too light for this weather, so I was cold all along. Good thing I know how to balance cold and I did that successfully, to avoid catching a cold.
This photo shoot was a struggle from the start as I was not feeling well, but I knew once the sun comes out, it will be game over, so there was no time to waste. At the time of writing, 90% of the snow is already gone, which was not even snow in the first place. It's was like frost, but maybe this is not the right word. There was a light fog during the night, which turned into this frost. Turns out my area was the only one affected in the city as in other parts the weather was clear and dry. I call that luck.
I tried my best, to take some decent photos, but the truth is, I could have done a better job. Lack of focus had the final word, but I was still able to select a few photos.
There are still green leaves at places and those were caught off guard now as this frost has already killed them.
My plan was to take some close up photos, macros, try to capture some nice snowflakes, but no such luck today as there were no snowflakes at all. If you look at it, these are like sticks, no shape of snowflake is visible.
Last year, when I had the amazing chance to capture some absolutely amazing snowflakes, I looked up how many types exist and trust me, there's a great variety, but nothing like this. These have no shape.
The last one standing! When there's snow, I'm always looking for something colored, remained in good shape, to have some contrast and a red leave is the best. Today I was particularly happy to see this one, especially that there was a net behind it.
I love this one. The light was not the best as it was gloomy but still, I like it.
This little fellow was looking for something to eat. With everything covered in white, chances to find something was slim to none. This reminds me of International Birds Day and that I need some food for them and a place where I can find them and also has to be a remote area as feeding birds is forbidden by law.
Cobblestones are always funny, unless you're driving :)
This was the last shot I took and was happy to find some roses in the middle of December.
I hope you liked this snowy post and I also hope that I can come back with more, but that depends on mother nature as well, not just me.
