Back in May, I visited an exhibition which hosted the artworks of a single artist, Mária Schneller. It was an interesting exhibition with a lot of nice artworks, so today I'd like to share a few with you.
Portrait of Zoltán. The model must have been a relative or someone close to the artist as there were two paintings featuring him. I really liked how the portrait turned out, it's so life like. I'm a huge fan of green-blue color combination, if it's the right shade.
Dark Hills
After all those exhibitions I have visited, I can tell you that the majority of the artworks are of regular, standard size, the size of the canvas you can buy in the art stores. Nothing wrong with that, but after some time, it becomes boring. This is why I like unconventional sized artworks. This was a wide canvas, perfect for what the painting is. The green frame was also a good decision as it goes well with the colors. The painting is called Dark Hills and it is indeed a bit dark but reflects reality very well.
Small Autumn Painting
Another green framed painting, a nice landscape I liked. Those light colors have a calming effect I think. It looks like a nice, sunny autumn day.
Autumn
This nice autumn scene reminds me of a place I know. It's kind of like an invite for me as when I'm looking at it, it makes me want to go visit the place.
View of Koltó
Koltó is a village with rich history. There's a Teleki castle in Koltó. This painting is not about the castle though, it is a nice landscape, similar in style, to the other two above.
Reflections
When I see reflection paintings, I'm always looking to check if the reflections are in order, they are really reflections in the right direction, not just some shadows, but this one seems to be prefect. I liked the tone of the painting a lot and again, the green frame goes well with the colors.
Swampy Area
Koltó Landscape
When I look at these paintings, I'm imagining them on my wall and asking myself how I would feel to see them day by day. I suppose that's how you decide if you buy it or not. Obviously there's another reason to buy paintings, like store of value, but in some cases, when it comes to store of value, people tend to aim higher and buy internationally acknowledged, famous painters' artwork. I would be happy with any of these artworks as it would make me want to go out and seek for these scenes, but again, one can't have it all. Space is limited.
Landscape With The Hill
If I could only redirect the fresh air from those mountains into my room 😄. Would be a very cool thing, but not possible so far.
Gábor Kentelki - No Title
This was a different exhibition, you can see the style has changed too. This abstract has no title, so you can give it a title, whatever your imagination tells you. The color combination is amazing and I loved the texture too. However, I have no idea what title I would give it to be honest.
Gábor Kentelki - No Title
This was a smaller one, on top of the other. Another abstract, with less colors. Nice, but I think I liked the other one better.
Gábor Kentelki - Walk In The Woods
This was also nice, but I think there's no such grass in the woods. Then again, who said the painting has to match reality, right?
Gábor Kentelki - Landscape
A very colorful one I might add, but nice. I like unconventional things, in art too.
Gábor Kentelki - Palette Interpretation
This was a very cool one. I suppose it's an interpretation of the color palette of a painter, roughly.
Look at the amount of painting used to create this artwork. I was afraid that big pieces of dry paint would fall down 😁. Loved the idea.
Gábor Kentelki - Palette Interpretation 2.
Same idea with different colors and less paint.
Gábor Kentelki - Eternal Struggle
Well, life is an eternal struggle.
Gábor Kentelki - Sunrise
This was a strange one. I would have never guessed what the artist wanted to illustrate here.
Gábor Kentelki - Sunset
If the previous one (sunrise) was strange, look at this one. One would expect some golden colors for sunset, so this is officially a strange one as well.
So this is it for today. Stay tuned for my next art post as it's coming soon :)
