Yesterday this new photo exhibition just opened in one of the galleries I'm frequently visiting and as I'm always interested in photo exhibitions, today I heaved over to see what beauties has the exhibition to offer me.
Ferencz Németh is an eighty years old Transylvanian photographer, and this exhibition was organized to celebrate his eightieth birthday.
The title of the exhibition was The Woman, The Eternal Mystery
It was an unusual photo exhibition and you'll see why.
Cogito Ergo Sum
A very interesting interpretation of René Descartes's famous expression. While I was looking at these black and white stripes surrounding the lady, was thinking how interesting it would be to launch a challenge with this theme and see how different photographers would capture it. It needs some imagination to create a nice setup.
Something I rarely talk about is photo processing before uploading and trust me, in case of exhibitions, that means a lot of work. Not having a tripod (you can't really go to exhibitions carrying a tripod) makes it a bit difficult, plus my biggest enemy is always making my life a living hell, so whenever I am able to take a half decent photo, I'm happy. Aligning lines is never easy and what seems to be good at the scene, turns out to be a big disappointment when I apply the grid at home. But not this time. The second photo is unedited and almost perfect in my eyes, as far as aligning the lines go. I don't know how I did it, but I'm happy with it.
Pandemiada
This photo refers to the time of pandemics as the lady is wearing a striped mask. Usually you have a better chance highlighting the model with a neutral background, but in this case it's not a disadvantage, on the contrary, it looks good in my opinion.
Vision in Black and White
This was another very good one, with the face paint and the gloves. Great idea.
The Birth of Computing
Impressed
Tired After a Thousand Years
Another fantastic one, which you can't really choreograph and the chances to stumble upon a scene like this are very low, so you have to be lucky, but you also have to notice and recognize the opportunity. The old lady is breaking the line so nicely.
Alina At The Promenade
Another example how you can combine geometrical patterns successfully. You have two different patterns in this photo, working well in my opinion.
On the Road of Dreams
The same lady, dressed the same way, on a different path. Now comes the question, how would you see the road of your dreams? Would it be striped in black and white and like a tunnel?
Alter Ego
To be honest, at this point I was very impressed with the photos. At his age, the photographer is thinking outside the box and I would not expect this style from an eighty year old one for sure. I was impressed. He sure knows how to play with the lens and this is just the beginning because what you're going to see is amazing.
Magic Mirror
Very interesting photo manipulation and whoever has come up with the idea has a good imagination.
Women And Eras
If I were to choose one photo, most likely this would be the one. I love this type of statues a lot and every time I see one, 'm taking tons of photos. Unfortunately you don't find them so often in my country, but several big European cities have them. Look at the execution of the statue, the details, the expression on the woman's face.
However, taking a photo of the statue is not always enough. You need to consider a lot of details and find the best angle. Here, with the other lady standing a bit further in that position, adds a lot to the photo. The almost clear background helps a lot as well. The tone of the photo is lovely as well.
I was a bit confused about this as the Hungarian title says Triplets, and the Romanian translation says Sisters. It doesn't really matter if the three ladies are sisters or triplets or related in any way because what you see here is one lady from three different angles :) A really good photo. I keep telling you, the photographer is good at photo manipulation. I've never thought of trying these techniques out, but who knows. Maybe one day I will as you can create a lot of nice stuff.
I hope you have a favorite among these photos. Also stay tuned as more amazing photos are to come in the upcoming days.
