Indonesia has 34 provinces, there are so many ethnic groups and languages, this country with the nickname Equator has various tribes. As an Indonesian who is living in another country for a long time, attending an event that presents culture is a special moment in itself that deserves to be immortalized.
In this post photography lovers, I want to share the photos that I got at the same time introducing regional clothing, as well as a little history about the traditional clothing:
Those are Central Java'dress. This long-standing tradition is maintained and harmonized with the progress of the times, even technological advances are used by residents to introduce their culture. Batik is one of them. Although many regions have their own types of batik, it is undeniable that the typical batik of Central Java is batik that is often displayed to the public.
This is the traditional clothing of South Sumatra, Palembang. Since the existence of the Srivijaya Kingdom in the past, the city of Palembang has been known for its natural wealth in the form of oil and coal. In addition, traditional clothes are also famous for being red and beautiful. Even in various traditional events, Palembang is never forgotten to wear.
This is a Betawi traditional dress, Jakarta. It called Kebaya Kerancang or also often called Kebaya Encim is one of the Betawi kebayas which is still popular for women to wear. Generally, kebaya will wear by young women, teenage girls, or young teenagers. Historically, this kebaya was combined with European-made lace or brocade which was covered with embroidery so that it looked like it was directly embroidered.
This is a variety of traditional West Java clothing that has been modified. West Java is mostly inhabited by the Sundanese who have the same cultural background. Such as Bandung, Sumedang, Cirebon, and other areas that have similarities in a dress.
