look and be looked at
always changing perspective
avoid to be seen
symmetry up down
repetition repeated
bind me to vision
from around corners
step away, look, be seen, look
disappear within
through the looking hole
I see the future anew
the past lingering
disappear into
oblivion — circle through —
black nothing to see
repeated — the same —
change only perceptible
through constant movement
from aside nothing
to be seen — perceptible
mistaken allure
divided symbol
simplicity shades meaning
from disenclosure *
[*Disenclosure has the double meaning of opening up something that was closed but also enclosed — something that is closed off by containing it.]
Postscriptum, or To Look at Something from a Different Perspective
Looking. The act of seeing something but also seeking. The double meaning, active and passive. To see, to seek, to look, to be looked at. It is just a complex dynamic that people take for granted. Similar to taste, the onlooker forgets that she actively perceives the world. But one can just as easily shift one's perspective to see from a different angle, to perceive the world differently merely by changing one's location.
Steeped in life, we cannot escape perception. Touch, smell, sight, taste, audio; we are steeped in perception. Trying to escape this situation is futile. Losing one sense heightens the others. Contradiction. Losing sight enhances audio perception. Losing taste and smell feels like going blind. Perception is to be human. Making sense of perception is an art form. Not everyone can create art from their perception, but as soon as one does, life changes. Life becomes enhanced. Some take additives to enhance life, but as soon as one changes one's perspective, no additives are needed. It is all a matter of perspective.
In any case, I hope that you enjoyed this journey with me, through my mind, through poetry, through thought, through perspective and perception. Look down, experience life differently. Focus on your senses, and you will experience life differently.
Happy photographing, and keep well.
All of the writings and haikus are my own, albeit inspired though looking at life differently. All of the photographs are my own taken with my Nikon D300 and Nikkor 50mm lens.
