It is that time of the year again, when almond trees are in full bloom and all over the fields you can see them dressed in white, popping up from the green surrounding! It shouldn't surprise me by now, I have been living here for 8 years and I watch them every year following the same routine, blooming before any other tree does. And yet I can't help it. Every year is the same feelings of magnificence that floods me. And every year I take tons of pictures and every year I capture something different, or at least I believe so :)
I have to thank hive and all of you, that give me an excuse to stop my work once in a while and look more closely the beauty around me. You know, living in a beautiful place doesn't necessarily means that you actually see the beauty. I know a bunch of people around here that totally miss it!
Those flowers are so delicate, so perfect and at the same time, so ephemeral. Some petals are already on the ground and in a few days, especially if a strong wind blows, the scenery will change overnight! One more reason to appreciate it as long as it lasts, like every little or big pleasure in life.
And of course the presence of a glorious sun makes everything much more beautiful and much more optimistic. How can you be depressed when you spend your day under those wonderful trees, even if at night you sit in front of a screen and have to do a lot of unaesthetic tasks, like paying bills and filling tax forms!
Trying to find a closing line it just hit me! In December we use to decorate our living rooms with sπmall Christmas trees while in February nature decorates our olive groves with the blooming almond trees. Isn't it a nice thought?
And of course I prefer the latter :)
All the pictures and the words are mine.
