It is Sunday noon, as I write these lines and the sounds of children playing and people chatting as they pass by, fills the room. The windows are wide open, the sun is shinning and although the calendar says otherwise, it feels like the beginning of spring. Not that we ever missed the sun. We live in a part of the world where it keeps shinning all year long. The gloomy, rainy days are rare and short-lasting. Nevertheless the last couple of days it is warmer and it definitely smells like spring is coming!
The visitors from the city are all over the town, strolling around, searching for the perfect spot to drink their coffee, discussing how they are going to amuse themselves. After all Nafplio is a lovely destination and only two hours drive from the capital, which makes it ideal for a short getaway.
The problem is when too many city folks have the same idea and the town turns out to be too small to fit them all. It is when finding the perfect spot for your coffee becomes a struggle to find a spot, any spot that isn't occupied and the amusement part is supplanted by nervousness and bad temper.
Those days, the castle may be an excellent alternative to spend your time. Looking over the town and watching from a distance all the drama that it taking place below. And if you do need a coffee after all, take one on your way there and find your perfect spot on a medieval rock!
As for myself, I don't drink coffee :)
I took those shots at the 5th of January 2025 and I have shared a few more pictures from that day in this post.
The camera that I used is a Canon EOS 6D mark II with almost all my lenses!
EF 16-35mm f4L, EF 24-105mm f4L and my favourite oldie from the 80s, a black EF 80-200 f2.8L
I edited the photographs in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Classic.
All the pictures and the words are mine.
