There are so many excuses to write a post. A beautiful flower that grew on your path, an exciting new project in the farm, an unforgettable trip, a favorite recipe and the list can go on for ever! Today it was a phrase that triggered a sequel of memories and led me digging to the oldest parts of my digital archives. I ended up with a few jpg images (I still hadn't realized the magnificence of raw files) from 2006, all of them taken handheld with a Canon 20D. Not the best specifications for night photography but for this once I wanted to share those pictures even if the quality is not the best possible.
A midnight run to welcome in the New Year through the wintery streets of London.
That's the phrase that wrote in a beautiful post about her days as a half marathon runner and the reason that I remembered that old trip and the New Year that I welcomed in the wintery streets of London myself :)
The year was almost the same and that's all with the similarities. The only sport I was doing back then was drinking and the only run I did in that trip was to reach Westminster Bridge before the fireworks are over :)
But our (or at least my) mind works in peculiar ways. Somehow that phrase connected two irrelevant points in time and two completely unrelated experiences into one illuminated scenery under an eerie red sky.
All the pictures and the words are mine.
