Where have you been mate? I haven't seen you in a while.
Here and there. Following my daily routine, trying to survive the heat and enjoy, as much as possible, a vacationless summer.
So what are you up to?
You know, summerish stuff. Walking the dog at dawn, when it is cool and quiet, going to the sea for a swim right afterwards and getting indoors for the biggest part of the day until the sun sets and the temperature is bearable again.
A salad for lunch and a cold beer under the moonlight, in the evening, would pretty much complete my daily routine.
It doesn't sound bad but how it comes and you haven't been writing at all?
No, not bad at all. On the contrary. I wouldn't imagine anything different with all those heat waves that we had this summer. But it does seem that I have lost all my inspiration. Maybe the heat has "boiled" my brain after all :)
Haha, I know what you mean, summer laziness at its fullest! You even have a special word for that in Greek, haven't you?
Yes,we do. "Ραστώνη". It's exactly that special laziness that comes with summer, especially in August!
You know, having the same schedule everyday I have the chance to notice all those people that are having a repetitive routine too. The same people that I see every morning walking their dogs or going for jogging, the same people on the beach, each one on their usual spot, even swimming on the same route or chatting in small groups, always the same people, everyday on the same spot. Like in that old movie, where the main character finds himself trapped in a time loop, living the same day over and over again.
You mean Groundhog Day. Yes, I've seen it. Funny movie, although I wouldn't want to be in his shoes :) But don't you do anything more apart that same stuff?
As a matter of fact I do. Not many but enough to break the routine. A theatrical play in the ancient theatre near by, an art exhibition in the old town or just same friends visiting us, are pretty good excuses to get out of the loupe!
And of course changing the dog's walk to spice things up for him and for us :)
Well it was nice seeing you. Hope to see you soon and not in another two months!
Same here, see you soon!
I wrote this post for those that might be wondering where I've been the last couple of months and as a thank you to those that actually asked. The pictures are taken with my phone, during the time of my absence and are unedited. Now that I am hearing the sound of a storm approaching and the weather is a bit cooler maybe I'll get in the mood for some blogging again!
All the pictures and the words are mine.
Thank you for reading and if you want to know more about me you can check out my introduction post.
