My goal in delving into the world of photography is not only a hobby but also to generate income. One of the photography genres that earns money in my city is wedding photo sessions. There are numerous people in need of this service, although for some, photography services are still undervalued because they consider it an easy task, leading to attempts to negotiate for lower prices. Sometimes, they will haggle for the lowest possible price to secure the services of a photographer.
However, it doesn't bother me; sometimes, they are unaware of the photographer's process. One of my ways to approach this is by conducting photo sessions that, in my opinion, can develop my talent in the world of photography, one of which is engaging in sports photography. Sports photography sessions are challenging in themselves because we need to use a fast shutter speed to capture moments without losing them. Therefore, when asked to do indoor sports photography, I will decline, as I don't want to compromise image sharpness by using high ISO to achieve a fast shutter speed.
Recently, I tried to capture the moment when my elementary school friend was playing tennis, specifically during a tennis championship between clubs in my city. Fortunately, the tennis competition was held outdoors, so I happily accepted the offer to capture the moments while she was playing tennis. Here are the photos that I captured:
Conducting this photography session is truly enjoyable because, in addition to honing my skills in capturing rapidly unfolding moments, I also feel the tension as they compete for the championship. Although my own background is not that of a sports photographer, and I find myself somewhat perplexed in creating compositions to make them visually appealing, I believe the photos I produced are quite satisfactory. Unfortunately, events like these are infrequent; they practice tennis regularly, but this championship is a first. Perhaps, on another occasion, I will delve into the sports photography genre since there are relatively few individuals in my city pursuing it. Oh, I hope you also enjoy my photos. Thank you. Warm regards from me.
