The prewedding photo session is one of the most exciting photo sessions for me, and perhaps for many others as well. This is because during this photo session, there are so many things to explore to make the prewedding photos more captivating. Starting from using props to selecting locations that we find appealing.
However, we often encounter couples who find it difficult to pose, thus the prewedding photo session can take quite a while, initially just to build the mood so that they can strike poses in front of the camera. There are many things we can do to lighten the atmosphere so that they don't appear stiff when facing the camera. One of the tricks I've learned is to bring a wireless speaker and play some relaxing tunes, or songs that the couple likes. This helps them to relax and start enjoying the environment, and maybe they can strike poses following the rhythm of the music.
Some time ago, I tried implementing a new trick, called 'unpose to pose'. I learned this trick from several photographers whose photos showcase very natural poses with emotions, yet still remain captivating. It turns out they only provide simple directions, like 'please run and chase your partner, then embrace'. I tried this during my latest prewedding photo session, and here are the results.
These prewedding photos are divided into several parts, in accordance with the games they play, and for myself, this is something very intriguing. Because I feel like this is a part of the pieces of a film from their story. Additionally, the reason I chose this location is that both of them are the type of people who are quite difficult to pose in front of the camera, so I arranged it in such a way and chose this location so that they could be more at ease and joke around as their natural behavior.
This is my first time doing a prewedding photo session using this technique. I think I will do it again in other prewedding sessions. Because in my opinion, this technique doesn't drain my energy and it also doesn't drain the clients' energy to pose, and of course, the clients will be able to freely play around according to their mood.
This technique is very useful for photographers who are confused when directing poses because this technique is very simple. You just need to give simple directions and let them play as they please. You can try it when you encounter a couple who are difficult to pose.
So don't be afraid to try experimenting with new things, I hope you can try it too. And I'm sure you will be surprised by the results because you won't expect what expressions they will give when you capture their happy moments.
Thank you to everyone who has stopped by my post, don't forget to always support other photographer friends so they can continue to create interesting photos.
Warm regards from me.
