I have already mentioned that the main purpose of going to Czechia was to go to a Music festival and see the capital of Prague. The Czech Republic is much more tho and you can find some beautiful nature and mountainous regions.
I finally convinced my friend and girlfriend to use one day to go to nature and do some hiking. We had to rent a car and we drove to the north part of the country, to a small settlement named Jetrichovice. We parked a car there and started the hike. Unfortunately for us, it was already 14.30 and we had an ambitious plan to do 11km loop trail.
This is the landscape that surrounded us at the start. Mostly we had to go uphill for quite a while and it was steep at times. Nothing too hard that is hard to walk. The aspect that most bothered us was the heat. We had +33C heat and this is not really a temperature you call suitable or enjoyable for this activity. Obviously, we had brought several water bottles with us on this hike.
Soon enough some views started to appear.
On this trail were 3 mountaintops that had some sitting places built on them. I call them checkpoints on this trail. After only 1.5 kilometers into the hike we arrived at our first checkpoint. This involved some extra climb to get to the top, through the cliffs.
The following are the photos taken from the top of the first viewpoint that does not have a name, at least I don't find one.
Beautiful green hilly landscapes all around you. There was also some wind which gave a good relief to the heat there.
After taking a break there, it was time to move on with our hike. After all, the daylight hours pressed on our heels and we still had A LOT to go. But I will leave the following to part two, maybe there will be part 3 too of this hike. There is still much to show you, the ongoing forest fire nearby, and two more checkpoints, the third one was actually pretty extreme.
Originally we didn't even plan to go to Narodni national park but to Bohemian Switzerland national park. This is the one that was burning and people evacuated, that's why we chose another area nearby.
Stay tuned!
