I made a last Colorado post about the Black Canyon of the Gunnison. When we were done with this place, we had a lot of driving to do, to make it to our next accommodation which was the Great Sand Dunes Lodge. The drive was 189 miles or 304 km long and took about 3 hours and 45 minutes. Basically had to drive halfway through Colorado. Fortunately, the drive was interesting and we got to see such beautiful landscapes and different-looking scenery.
Of course, I took some photos or asked my girlfriend to take some because I was driving. I am trying to write locations to every place I have here in the photos but I'm not sure I remember exactly where these were.
That should be Needle Rock in western Colorado. I wish I had time to take a hike next to it but we didn't. I just took quite a cool photo from afar.
Here is Hermits Rest Vist. A rest stop with gorgeous views, situated at an altitude of 9000ft. Had to make a stop there and get some photos and enjoy the heights.
These are taken next to Gunnison River, near Blue Mesa Dam. The scenery was quite a bit different than in the last photos.
I'm not sure where this place is located exactly. I just know that there were many cattle farms. It's probably somewhere in central Colorado.
A road carved through a hill. This is when we arrived in San Louis Valley. This is a huge perfectly flat valley in the midst of massive mountains. It really is quite a unique feature of nature. I will talk more about it in the next CO post.
Here is a dope photo from this valley. Seemingly endless straight roads and epic mountainous backdrop. Love this photo!
We had one more stop to make on this valley before we got to our accommodation but this will be the topic of the next Colorado post!
