During My last week-long trip to Iceland, the farthest point we reached was a village on the southern coast named Vik. I have been there 2 times before but I haven't been there with good weather before. We basically only drove there to visit a restaurant that seemed interesting. I also have a couple of photos taken nearby of Vik, in random places.
This is one of the random roadside photos. I loved the lighting, that was mainly the reason why I decided to stop.
The following photos are all taken in Vik. You can go on a hill right next to the town and the overview of Vik is great there.
Also located on a hill, overlooking the town is a Vik Church. This is the one you see on many Icelandic postcards and travel advertisements. For a good reason, it has such a great backdrop.
I'm glad I got to see this place during a sunset, it was beautiful.
Here is another random photo, taken in a direction to the other side of the church.
By the way, we went to eat in Ströndin Pub. Great food and good beer. I had to drink an alcohol-free one because I was driving but I tasted one from my girlfriend. If you happen to be there with an empty stomach, sure visit it. Can get crowded in the summer though.
