Last year I rediscovered my love for wooden textures and trees in general. My photo archive is organized by date rather than by motif so I have to go through thousands of images to find what I've got on wood. Here are some nice examples of beautifuly weathered driftwood I just stumbled upon. I'm using parts of these photos as references for paintings of my Trees series, like my latest piece Embrace which I posted here recently.
I took these photos in the Höllental Valley in Lower Austria with my Nikon D800.
