Just get in the car and go…
Don’t overthink it, just go!
Random night drives
have become somewhat of a habit of mine. Whenever I feel that I’ve spend just a bit too much time behind a desk or inside, it’s my go to solution.
It’s not just that, if I have a lot on my mind or just need to clear my head, I just get in the car and drive somewhere. Add the fact that I like photography I usually take my camera or drone with me. Of course you’re allowed to bring a buddy but I usually go alone (especially since it’s random).
Luckily, Curacao has a few bright spots (especially in the city) where you can park your car and sit down… but even just driving is enough sometimes.
You see, I’ve missed this. It’s only been a week since the curfew was moved to 9 (then to 11pm and now to 1 pm) so this really hasn’t been possible for a while. I’m glad it’s back!
(Of course, I always advice to use some common sense, don't go to places that you know are unsafe or too dark...)
Night drive turned to Street Photography
Wait what's better? Night Streetphotography or Street Nightphotogroahy??? 🤔🤔🤔
I digress, since I bring my camera most of the time I usually have some kind of challenge or technique I want to practice. Different situations give you different opportunities to do so. Places that are normally packed with people will be empty at 11pm. Streets that always have cars are empty. The night itself gives you a certain vibe! I try to take advantage of that every time see what I can come up with.
This time I focused on 1) Using my Canon m50 with a 50mm lens at F22. It results in these crisp light burst that I like.
And 2) Testing out my latest secondary cam a Nikon d5600 with 18-105mm lens.
I also played around with exposure time and different scene settings of the cameras themselves.
Here’s what I got!
This one is my favorite!
So, am I alone here? Do you also go for night drives/walks/swims/flights😂???
As always, feel free to comment, ask questions or give tips!
Cheers,
