I was invited by Hey honeyguide and Visit Almere to explore the Floriade expo 2022 and the city of Almere! Together with a group of 20 influencer's from the Netherlands we went to the city of Almere for the weekend.
We got early access to the Floriade terrain so we would be able to fly ore drones before the visitors arrived.
Floriade Expo 2022 is the world horticultural exhibition that will take place in Almere.
During Floriade, Dutch horticulture, together with national and international exhibitors, will show examples that make our cities more fun, liveable and sustainable.
Since 1960, the Floriade World Horticultural Exhibition has been held in a Dutch location once every 10 years. More than 400 national and international participants show their latest green inventions, solutions and applications. From state-of-the-art solar roof tiles to amazing vertical facade gardens and from the best ways to grow tomatoes to the latest pruning techniques. You can see, taste and experience it all at Floriade.
I have never been to an active floriade but i did visited the old Floriade terrains across the Netherlands! Some are parks and recreatin areas now and some became residential areas!
The area in Almere is going to be a "green" residential area after the exhebition!
This is one of the first gardens i spotted out of the sky! It is the exhibition of China! One of the bigger gardens on the expo! I love those textures and shapes! The big circle is a pond!
This is the German pavilion! a multi-story wooden building where you can walk through! I love the curves on the pavement! The sun was not high in the sky so the shadows are not that pretty! I need to fly here again at noon.
We were given one hour to fly the drones. 8 people in the group had a drone so we spread out quickly. We also didn't have much time to fly because as soon as the park opens we need to stop!
And because of the time limit and the other drones it became a little stressful for me :p
I am a photographer but I also wanted to film! i am trying to make vlogs of my travels and stuff, In dutch so probably you wont understand but here is my YouTube channel.
But i need to edit that weekend. But the pictures are ready for you!
This is the coat of arms of Ukraine! i love those hoses that are still laying in the grass!
I didn't want to Photoshop them out!
This is the Qatar pavilion. They used 3D printing with sustainable materials to build their pavilion! This picture didn't come out as i hoped, the shadows are not that good at this time of day!
And photographing a tall lighthouse top down doesn't do the trick either :p
But trees on little islands in the water did work.
I liked the curved road next to al thos little gardens! I've tried to capture it in different angles!
This is the garden of the United Arab Emirates! they are showing different way's to grow crops in there desserts! Those are all different kinds of ponds!
biobased construction. At this unique pavilion you can see how a large number of biobased materials, such as wood, hemp, mycelium and cotton!
In this building you can find restaurants and they have an art exposition! After the expo these are transformed to apartments! The exterior is a reflection of 1800 different plants and flowers that are grown on the whole expo site! my next blog is all about this building!
The round building in the water is part of the new museum! The cable cart is a 850 meter long route above the park! we don't have many of these kind of things in the Netherlands so that was nice to ride this one!
