No I'm not cursing with the F word, it was a fantastic foggy morning! Down on ground level it was not so beautiful but when i got my drone up in the air it was stunning!
This morning i decided to go for a sunset mission to the river Lek near the town of Lopik and Ameide! There is a large recreation area where you can hike along the river. There is enough parking and they have a pedestrian ferry so you can go visit the town of Ameide on the other side of the river!
Here are some shots of that morning! I started making a panorama! I Took some vertical shots and stitched them in Lightroom! This was just minutes before sunrise and in the distance there are clouds above the horizon! Fog like this usually doesn't stay that long but this morning i was lucky!
As soon the sun came above the horizon and the clouds it became even more beautiful!
I was struggling a bit with the withe balance in my camera settings! Pointing towards the sun made the picture a lot warmer. Witch of the above do you like the most? I also did point the camera down a litlle bit more! Maybe that caused the white balance differences!
This is the dock were the pedestrian ferry is docked but his home base is at the other side of the river. You will see him in the pictures at the end of this post! Post the color of the ferry in my comments so i can see how many people really read my story ;)
Here you can see a swimming pool for small children! The currents, caused by a passing ship, are very dangerous and therefore it is forbidden to swim in the river! But small children can cool of in the little pool!
Along the entire river you can see breakwaters. They ensure that the river keeps its course and doesn't continuously wash away the riverbanks!
This is the view to the other side of the river, the church tower is just sticking above the layer of fog! Do see the ferry?
The first time the village of Ameide is mentioned in history is in the year 1021, and because it had a very strategic location along the river it was also an important town. Therefore it received city rights in the year 1200. This despite the fact that it is a very small town with now no more than 4000 inhabitants.
