Last Monday I was invited, by two of my friends, to visit there book presentation! These two lady's manage an Instagram account that is focused on museums in the Netherlands! The account is called Dutch girls in museums and it lets you guess what these two woman do!
The last 5 years, they have visited a lot of museums in the Netherlands! From the small local once until the most famous Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam! And to calibrate there 5 years anniversary, they decided to make a book of all there pictures and stories!
The presentation was in the museum of the mind in Haarlem!
The Museum of the Mind is fascinated by the work of art inside your head. Because nothing is as diverse, unique, powerful and yet so fragile as the human mind. Through its art and cultural programs, the museum helps to bring mental health and neurodiversity into the open.
These are the two woman who are behind Dutch girls in museums this are Danielle and Iris!
Here they pose in and around the art instalation of Marisca Voskamp van Noord (1970) witch 'floats' in the museum. It is the work 'Ademtocht' what freely translated means 'Breath'. The plastic bags are inflated by people in mental health care; from staff, clients and family. One bag of breath may not mean much. But all those bags together form an endless, inexhaustible breath.
This is me, doing stupid stuff again! these pictures are taken by my friend Willemien!
Luckily they also captured me doing normal!
After the presentation, the speeches and the admiring the book, we were aloud to wonder around the museum! It's always fun and relaxing to walk in a museum that is closed to the public!
Then you can really enjoy it and take cool pictures without other people in the way!
This picture is heavenly edited! The arms are real but the background was way to busy for my opinion! That's why I used Photoshop Ai to remove the objects in the background! this was the original!
