There were many poses she gave me for the session. All of them serious and tasting her tobacco, which she lit several times in order to release the smoke, like special effects. It was a bar in Havana, Cuba. The place was overflowing with people and it was pouring rain outside. All the tables were full and there was little room to walk around. She came to where I was to ask me if she could sit down in an empty chair at my table, I told her it was used by a friend who was getting a beer. Rapidly, I said: you can take mine.
She thought about it, like someone who doesn't want to bother and said no, I insisted and she took a seat, quickly she became part of the group and we started to talk.
She was with two friends who joined in very passively. Ana was easy to get along with, between seriousness and smiles mixed with tobacco and smoke she told me her name and went back to absorbing from her cape.
Some time passed and her friends found a table to sit at. They called out to her: - Ana, here is a seat for you, come over here. She turned her head followed by her tobacco and the smoke that made a round effect on her face. It was at that precise moment that I thought of taking some pictures to her.
I told her: - Ana! I want to take some pictures of you smoking tobacco. She looked at me as if puzzled and did not think twice to tell me a resounding - NO!!!.
I insisted and another - NO, I'm ugly, was her answer.
Slightly more smoke came out of her mouth in the form of steam.
When it comes to photographs I am not one to give up easily, so I convinced her with photographic enthusiasm and she accepted.
She wasn't smiling in the photos. She was serious. I imagine that's how she pictured the models. I let her flow.
I took several in different looks. Quickly edited some color details.
When I showed her the pictures, she said: "I looked beautiful! With the childish joy of someone who sees her portrait for the first time.
It made me very happy to know that she liked seeing herself in the pictures.
Her friends called her once again - Ana, come on over! She knew it was time to share time with them. She stood up, thanked me with a strong hug and said something I will remember forever: - You touched my heart - And she left to her friends. Surely to deliver happiness around because it seems to me that this is what she does....
Thank you very much Ana!
Yo insistí y otro - NO, estoy fea!
Muchas Gracias Ana!
