Cuando pienso en hacer fotografía no me canso de buscar dentro de mí algo diferente, obtener una buena imagen desarrollando una producción de bajo costo, pero que me pueda disfrutar el proceso. Por lo regular, me planteo asuntos que tenga a la mano, recrear alguna realidad inimaginable; sucede que trato de retarme en ir más allá dentro de la fotografía, revelar lo que está en mi cabeza y como interpreto mi alrededor. En la búsqueda de recrear lo inanimado, la imaginación juega un papel muy importante, sobre todo en la posibilidad de sacar el espíritu del objeto plástico o tela que uso.
When I think of doing photography I never get tired of looking inside myself for something different, to obtain a good image by developing a low-cost production, but that I can enjoy the process. Usually, I consider issues that I have at hand, recreate some unimaginable reality; it happens that I try to challenge myself to go beyond within photography, to reveal what is in my head and how I interpret my surroundings. In the search to recreate the inanimate, imagination plays a very important role, especially in the possibility of bringing out the spirit of the plastic object or fabric I use.
Me agrada trabajar con juguetes, son mucho más que plástico y tela, se pueden recrear mundos ilusorios, difícilmente hallados en algún lugar. Cuando miramos al juguete tras el lente de la cámara, la realidad proporcional del muñeco es compleja de lo que creemos, sin embargo, extrañamente entretenida. Es interesante como podemos comunicarnos con estos "seres" para lograr obtener escenarios y tomas que difícilmente consigamos en nuestro entorno. En ocasiones, como me ha sucedido normalmente, hago este tipo de fotografías tras mi búsqueda fotográfica distinta, miro los adornos de los lugares que visito, y no me avergüenzo de sacar el teléfono para hacer mis disparos fantasiosos, así como también de colocar algún muñeco aprovechando un paisaje cercano de casa. Me he podido dar cuenta que la composición y la altura donde sitúe la cámara respecto al juguete es importante. Colocarme a la misma altura de mi sujeto inanimado le otorgo fuerza a la expresión, a la vez que, le doy volumen y lo convierto en un sujeto de contextura "humana", aparentemente.
It is interesting how we can communicate with these "beings" to achieve scenarios and shots that we hardly get in our environment. Sometimes, as it has usually happened to me, I take this kind of pictures after my different photographic search, I look at the decorations of the places I visit, and I am not ashamed to take out my phone to take my fantasy shots, as well as to place a doll taking advantage of a landscape near my house. I have been able to realize that the composition and the height where I place the camera with respect to the toy is important. Placing myself at the same height as my inanimate subject gives strength to the expression, and at the same time, I give it volume and turn it into a subject with a "human" build, apparently.
A pesar de que los ojos son de plástico o tela, no dejo de prestarle atención, son muñecos, claro, pero al resaltar su "humanización" no hay que olvidarse de ellos. Al incrementar el volumen del sujeto con el ángulo de la cámara, la mirada crea curiosidad, y explorarla tiene sus virtudes. Seguramente hay otros detalles de que fijarse, de pronto son los que he usado y me han funcionado, conforme a los resultados que he obtenido. Sería interesante poder investigar este tipo de fotografía e incrementar mis conocimientos empíricos al respecto; quizás me ayude a planificar mejor la foto y a recrear historias, y no hacerlas tan espontáneamente en las casas a las que visito.
Even though the eyes are made of plastic or cloth, I don't stop paying attention to them, they are dolls, of course, but when highlighting their "humanization" we shouldn't forget about them. Surely there are other details to pay attention to, but these are the ones I have used and they have worked for me, according to the results I have obtained. It would be interesting to investigate this type of photography and increase my empirical knowledge about it; perhaps it will help me to better plan the photo and recreate stories, and not make them so spontaneously in the houses I visit.
