Shot with Fujifilm X-T5, 50mm f/1
One of my goals for this year is to make self portraits again like I used to. Photography as a medium is very underrated and can show unique emotions different to paintings. Aside from that, it's also easier for me to create them as I use myself as a model. I just realized that I am indeed a very impulsive and impatient person so using photography for some of my ideas is a really great medium as I can finish them quicker than drawing/painting them.
So, the other day I just took photos of myself to develop those habits again and also so I can have a record of how I look like for this year lol.
I used the Nostalgic Negative film simulation on Fuji X-T5 as a base and experimented on the colors from there. Even though you can use those film simulations straight out of the camera, I still like adding my own touch in editing.
I had the highlights turned up to bluish green and the shadows orange. I was aiming for a bit of an ethereal soft vibe and a bit cinematic I guess.
The quality of Fuji 50mm f/1 (yep, f/1.0!) is INSANE and I regret not using this more often. The details are so sharp even at f/1 and it blurs the background so nicely.
I don't have many poses yet and more focusing on portrait shots. At some point I will have those whole body shots too once I think of a nice concept for it. :P
