I wish I had a bit more space to pull my ideas off in my home studido (read: my lounge room) - because it would make working with certain kinds of lights (and shadows) a lot easier. In any case, I make do with what I have, and I think I do an okay job :D
This was a rather impomptu shoot one evening after work with Holly - we had a few outfits, and a few ideas, and this is the outcome.
Sportwear and Gels
These images were not really shot with photographic gels, they were shot with a few softboxes using colour changing LED globes - which were set to strobe through all the colours of the rainbow at random. They don't put out a great deal of light, which is a bit problematic for images in sports wear, which are typically sharp, contrast rich and in my opinion, better than the results I produced.
This was generated in a room of about 3 by 4 metres to get an idea for the size!
Portraits
These portraits were actually taken after we did the dark bunny look, as Holly kept poking her rabbit ears with her hand. Also, I did a pretty lazy job of customising the rabbit ears (you'll see them later in the post - I spray painted the white plastic with black automotive paint.)
I feel like there were some great movement and expressions captured in these two portraits. I converted one to black and white, but I think I much prefer the colour version! What do you think?
The Dark Bunny
This was meant to be anti-easter - a dark, gothic looking bunny destroying chocolate and throwing it away. There is a bit of pin up thrown in for good measure.
I'm learning to make the most of my small space - but it makes me itch for a larger studio space that is sorta dedicated, and not something I have to put up and tear down all the time :D
