That's the chirp of the insects...
It is officially Summer.
I always complain about the heat of the Summer. As if it was not always the weather where I live. Even if I complain every minute of the day, it will never snow. I wonder how snow feels like. I already have experienced artificial and man-made snow, but that is another story.
I slowly realized how lucky I am that I can feel the warmth of the Summer, cruel or gentle...
It was a several-hour drive from our place. Man, I slept late the day before because I enjoyed too much talking on the Discord Server. I thought of just sleeping on the way~ My eyes are half closed, zoning out, and finally fell asleep.
We went to a place where it brought back some childhood memories. I can pinpoint familiarity with the smell, touch, air, and anything in between. It is a much break I needed away from screens, responsibilities, and annoying people. π
We set up our food, and tent, and had a little take-me-back talk. I can just feel the difference of going back here as an adult already... The aunties and uncles were busy cooking for lunch, while we the kids explored more of nature.
I noticed that there were a lot of scattered dried leaves, probably because they get toasted faster during Summer. The water is so clear! You can see what's below the it.
We slowly crossed this mini-fall because it was slippery. There is moss growing on those rocks, so we were very cautious. We do not like to be the subject of mockery when slipped. π
π
A log was placed in between to catch the dried leaves. Nice! π
What was this duck doing? I bet she is thinking about getting a fish, or her kids turned to balut. She was very still, thank God I have a content because of you, duck! π I just zoomed this in because I was scared to go near. She might chase the hella out of me. I have never seen a duck with this color.Looks like a Muscovy Ducks (I just Googled it π ).
Cool, clear, and calm πβ¨
The kids started to jump in to the water. Ugh- hard to keep up with humans full of energy. We had to keep them running around to drain their batteries. Also, I was the look out and shouting "Do not go too far and deep, monster will pull your leg!!" I said that with conviction just to scare them. Ugh~ these kids, lemme explore in peace! π
I have to crouch so low to capture the rushing water. I am happy with the shot! So refershing~ βΊοΈ
The little, purple flowers were so easy to see because the bright color just popped out of the green foliage. It was windy so I had to take several shot and held the end of the branch to make it steady. On the other hand, I found a rock full of moss. Little ferns grew on the sides too. It is like a little ecosystem. So Kewl~ π
Ferns are thriving here! π
A lot of mossy rocks here. A Balete tree grew beside this rock and wraps its sturdy roots around it. Nature is cool! (Can't stop saying cool, because it is!) π€£ The coiling of the roots reminds me of the telephone cord back in the days I wasn't born yet. π π
See how clear the water is? The white petals are floating! It is confusing but the leaves are submerged in water.
Arrietty Feels!
Am I in the Ghibli world?
If you are a Ghibli fan, you know what I am talking about. This is actually a path way leading to a smaller pond. It looks like it was made for little people, huh. I would imagine Arrietty jumping on the leaves.
I wanna use this as my art reference soon!
Rocks were lined up so that it will regulate the flow of the water. Also, they collect the leaves so that it will not clog the water ways. It can also be a bridge to the other side if you do not like your feet to get wet. I am wearing rubber slippers so it is easy to dry it up. I walked in the shallow water, and splashed and waddled like a duck.
Crab trap! π¦
People use this wooven crab trap to catch some small fish, tilapia, crab, and even frogs. I like that they thought of the handle so that your hands will not be wet when you pick it up.
This place is near the irrigation to water peanuts and tobaccos. The water is very clear and flowing beautifully!
I was actually patiently waiting for a tilapia to come, but I think I was scarying them away, haha! I sat on the dry patch of the grass, looking at the peanut field for 15 minutes, but no luck! I gave up waiting. π
See you again...
I appreciate more the Summer, cruel or gentle. I hope I can go back again, this time to with special someone see a tilapia trapped in the crab trap. π
That is it for this blog. I will see you next time!
