Well, my dear photography-loving friends on #Hive, if you've been following international news, you'll know that today here in my country (Venezuela) doesn't seem like a good day to be out and about with a camera. But here in my town, we had one of our beautiful foggy mornings, and I'm someone who rarely lets this kind of weather pass without taking some pictures. So, discreetly, I left the house and headed back up into the hills, and while the town below remained quiet and still due to the day's events, I lost myself among the scrubland, dusty paths, leafless trees, and thick fog, capturing these images to share with you today...

Bien, mis queridos amigos amantes de la fotografía en #Hive, si han visto noticias internacionales ya sabrán que hoy aquí en mi país (Venezuela) no parece un buen día para salir a recorrer calles con una cámara fotográfica en la mano. Pero aquí en mi pueblo, tuvimos una de nuestras hermosas mañanas con niebla, y yo soy alguien que muy difícilmente deja pasar este tipo de condición meteorológica sin tomar algunas fotos. Así que, discretamente, me fui nuevamente a las colinas, y mientras el pueblo abajo permanecía como paralizado y silencioso debido a los acontecimientos del día; yo me perdí entre matorrales, caminos polvorientos, árboles deshojados y niebla densa, capturando estas imágenes para compartir con ustedes hoy...

Once immersed in nature, I was grateful for my decision, as the light was special today and allowed me to take very "intimate" photos of the vegetation already affected by the drought. Also, as always, this walk helped me wake up and retreat into my thoughts... It's not that I'm indifferent to what's happening in my country. But after more than a quarter of a century of chaos, one loses the capacity for wonder and learns to act very calmly and evenly in all situations... Besides, I was the IT Manager of a company with 3,500 employees and some 240 locations nationwide for more than two decades, which ended up landing me on a psychologist's couch years ago... If that didn't prepare me to act calmly in almost any situation, nothing will! 😂

Una vez sumergido en la naturaleza, agradecí mi decisión, pues la luz era especial hoy y esto me permitió hacer fotos muy "intimas" de la vegetación ya afectada por la sequía. Además, como siempre, esta caminata me sirvió para desperezarme y encerrarme en mis pensamientos... No se trata de que yo sea un tipo indolente respecto al acontecer en mi país. Pero después de más de un cuarto de siglo de caos, uno pierde la capacidad de asombro y aprende a actuar de manera muy clamada y ecuánime en todas las situaciones... Además, yo fui Gerente IT de una empresa de 3500 trabajadores y unas 240 sedes a nivel nacional durante más de dos décadas, cosa la cual terminó lanzándome al sofá de un psicólogo años atrás... ¡Si eso no preparó para actuar en calma sobre casi cualquier situación, nada lo hará! 😂

Although I love taking photos like today's, the truth is I long to return to my streets and photograph people, cats, dogs, vintage cars, building facades, and more. So I hope things return to normal here soon...

Aunque amo hacer este tipo de fotos como las de hoy. La verdad es que siento deseos de volver a mis calles y hacer mis fotografías de personas, gatos, perros, autos viejos, fachadas y más. Así que espero que aquí la situación se normalice pronto...

They were then exported to JGP format on which minor modifications such as straightening and adding watermarks were carried out using PhotoScape v3.7}
