We had nice weather here today, so I thought it was propitious to take advantage of my time by going for a long walk in the hills northwest of town. It's June and the rainy season is well underway, so there would surely be plenty of plants and insects for me to photograph. So, before going out, I made sure to have my old 100 mm macro lens on my camera, which is very good for taking pictures of small details in nature...

Hoy tuvimos aquí una mañana con buen clima, así que consideré que era propicio aprovechar mi tiempo yendo a hacer una larga caminata por las colinas al noroeste del pueblo. Estamos en Junio y la temporada de lluvias está bien entrada, así que seguramente habría para mi una buena cantidad de plantas e insectos para fotografías. Así que antes de salir me aseguré de llevar puesto en mi cámara mi viejo lente para macro fotografía de 100 mm, el cual es muy bueno para hacer fotos de pequeños detalles en la naturaleza...

In addition to my old 100 mm lens, I was also careful to bring a long-sleeved, high-collared shirt, long pants, partially moisture-proof shoes, a cap and an extra flannel to wrap around my head, which protects my ears from blowflies and mosquitoes (abundant in the vegetated areas at this time of year), and a container with enough liquid to avoid dehydration. Here the weather is hot and very humid during these months and insect bites and heat stroke are things necessary to avoid...

Además de mi viejo lente 100 mm, también tuve el cuidado de llevar camisa de mangas largas y cuello alto, pantalones largos, zapatos parcialmente aprueba de humedad, una gorra y una franelilla adicional para envolver alrededor de mi cabeza, cosa lo cual me sirve para proteger mis oídos de moscardones y mosquitos (abundantes en las áreas con vegetación en esta época del año), y un recipiente con suficiente liquido para evitar la deshidratación. Aquí el clima es caliente y muy húmedo estos meses y las picaduras de insectos y los golpes de calor con cosas las cuales es bueno evitar...

As expected, there were plenty of flowers, leaves, stems and of course insects, at my full disposal to take pictures. Even in spite of some fires during the drought months, the recovery of the vegetation in the hills is amazing and you just need to look closely to enjoy the great amount of life in a natural way happening there... So this is how I took these pictures which I am sharing with you today on #Hive...

Como era de esperarse, había un montón de flores, hojas, tallos y por supuesto insectos, a mi plena disposición para hacer fotografías. Aún a pesar de algunos incendios ocurridos en los meses de sequía, la recuperación de la vegetación en las colinas es asombrosa y solo basta aguzar la mirada para disfrutar de la gran cantidad de vida en forma natural ocurriendo allí... Así que de esta manera fue como hice estas fotografías las cuales estoy compartiendo con ustedes hoy en #Hive...
