A dozen days ago we were in an area where the internet was not very good. That was coupled with tiring work days, all of which then made it difficult for me to blog. Now, there are many memories that I bring home from the places we visited in those days ago. Here are some pictures from there.
On the coast of an area called Singkil on the west coast of Sumatra, we did a tour of several streams and swamps to observe the environment there. We started the tour from a coastal village and from there we navigated a large river.
While doing this tour we kept trying to find crocodiles. Several small and medium sized crocodiles were seen, but I failed to take pictures.
Traversing swamps filled with Nipah palms. These swamps hundreds of years ago were actually a settlement but due to various natural disasters, the land of the settlement underwent severe land subsidence, and finally, the surface of the settlement was closed deep under water.
The remains of settlements submerged in swamp water.
A unique trap for catching mud crabs.
The sun goes down there.
