A week or sometimes even weeks they are at sea. During the day, they hunt schools of fish, and in the dark evenings they trawl the fish in the places where they have made fish nests (fish houses) in the water, which they call in the local language of northern Sumatra as Tuasan. There, they turn on the lights to attract the attention of the fish. If they are lucky they can trawl the fish there. They have to endure a long time at sea before they get what they are looking for. After that, they went home, docked at the fishing ports. One of the most important fishing ports in northern Sumatra is the port of Lampulo in Banda Aceh. I took these sights there when many fishing boats were anchored there before returning to the sea for a week or weeks.
A patrol helicopter was shot by my camera on the beach near the Lampulo fishing port.
At dusk there.
