I bought a telescope recently and hadn't had a chance to use it until last night. It seems like any evening the moon is full it's either cloudy, raining or I just don't have a chance to get out to use it. Last night though, the moon was full without a cloud in the sky, and so I grabbed the telescope and got out.
The Best of The Worst
I really like this one, that glow around the edge of the moon I think is really nice. It was an accident I think as it only showed up in one of the other pictures.
Those were some of the best photos I was able to take. What I did was put my phone up to the scope and mess around... a lot. To try and capture it.
While looking through the scope it was so clear and really amazing, but the phone had a tough time holding it's focus on the moon.
The Better Than The Worst, But Worse Than The Best
This one here I think looks cool since the glow around the edge goes into the shadow of the moon.
It was so much messing around to try and get it in full frame. The slightest movement would knock the Telescope out of view of the moon, or the phone would go out of focus.
With one hand I would try and hold the telescope steady, while with the other get the phone's camera in view, while also tapping to get it to focus and then try and take the picture.
Most of the photos came out looking like this, the first one I took I didn't realise the flash was on.
This is the culprit here. A celestron Explorascope 114AZ, from what I've seen from it, it gives a really good clear image. There are also a lot of different lenses for it, which admittedly I'm not sure yet what all of them are good for.
There is though, an attachment I can buy for this, which is about 25 euro and is a housing for the phone to take proper pictures without the trouble I had to get these ones.
I'll be taking more of these when the next clear night is here, I've always loved astronomy, I think what I'd like to test next time is trying to take a picture of mars or something like that. I doubt I'd be able to with this one but, I'd be interested in testing it out.
Hope you liked them, I think it's really cool and could sit staring at the moon all night. Even without a telescope, but, I'm glad I was able to take some of these pictures, even if they didn't turn out as good as I would have liked.
