What’s up, Hive? It’s almost midnight here in the Twin Cities and we’re getting an epic snow storm. Apparently, there hasn’t been one of this magnitude in 30 years. It isn’t surprising. There’s almost one or two hold out storms that bitch slap us here at the end of February. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s another in store sometime in March as well. I’m actually beginning my starter seeds for the garden three weeks later than I did last year for that very reason. I’m not too stressed about the snow. I’ll be staying home with and
working on
projects. Not a bad day at all.
I’m sharing new photos of my friend Stephany from a shoot we did together in June of last year. I’ve really drug my feet on getting these done. There’s been a ton of projects and travel these last six months or so and she’s been an angel with her patience. I logged in to Instagram and saw that it’s her birthday so I finally dropped everything, made my way to and began editing these images. We shot together in Las Vegas during last year’s Viva Rockabilly Weekend event. She flew in to Minneapolis a few months later for a shoot at my house, That’s where these were taken.
As I went through and reviewed the photos from this shoot again, I was awestruck by her styling. She did everything herself, picking the outfits for the dark pinup session. That goes a long way when a client is willing to invest so much time in executing the vision, not to mention the travel to get here. She booked make-up with my friend Farah from Lovely Organic and from there, I picked her up and we made the most of the rooms throughout my home. Usually not my first choice, my house really came through giving a haunting, complex gothic vibe with candles and flowers.
I sent these to her as soon as they were finished and wished her a happy birthday. She was elated and Hive is the first platform we’re sharing these. Now that they’re out there, I’m going to finish some administrative stuff for before it gets too much later. I have to get something to eat. Tomorrow will be a work-from-home day for me. Hopefully a lot of illustration and I’ll be able to finish new photography for Hive, and for the next
NFT release that’ll be coming to WAX. It’s going to be called, “City Of Angels”. Have a good night!
