Trochosa (C. L. Koch, 1847)
Another one of these beautiful wolf spiders today, night time is really great to find more Lycosids, during the day they are usually a lot more flighty.
As you can see in the image, she lost her right leg 1, the wound looks quite brutal if you ask me, but I doubt the spider pays much attention to it, didn’t have problems walking anyway.
I’d really like to photograph some more species in this family, I’ve found a few Alopecosa spec., but they are always quite impatient, even at night, so I haven’t been succesfull. I want to get a few prey scenes, portraits and portraits with babies of all the species I can find this year.
